CA COVID-19 Supplemental Paid Sick Leave
SB 95 was passed on March 18 and signed by Governor Newsom on March 19. The Bill mandates statewide supplemental paid COVID-19 sick leave, retroactively to January 1, 2021, and continuing through September 30, 2021.
SB 95 requires an additional 80 hours of paid leave to employees for qualifying reasons to employers with 25 or more employees. This new leave is in addition to any leave you may have already paid out in 2020, on an individual employee basis.
On November 30, 2020, upon approval by the Office of Administrative Law (OAL), Cal/OSHA adopted new temporary emergency regulations related to COVID-19 that will affect all employers in the state of California. Emergency regulations typically remain in effect for 180 days unless OAL approves a readoption of the emergency regulation during that time period.
Below are resources you need to stay in compliance. This new CAL/OSHA regulation is tricky. Please don't take action without speaking with our HR professionals.
